Description
Detects abnormal occult bleeding associated with gastrointestinal disorders more reliably than standard fecal occult blood tests (FOBTs). Includes an enhancer which makes the test more sensitive and more readable than standard Hemoccult and other FOBTs. With enhanced blood detection and improved readability, the use results in significantly improved detection of adenomas and colorectal cancer. CLIA Waived.
Features
  • Hemoccult SENSA has been proven to give the highest clinical sensitivity readings (92 percent for colorectal cancer) helping significantly in the early detection of pre-cancerous adenomas and colorectal cancers.
  • Hemoccult SENSA Single Slides are convenient for use when single fecal specimens are collected for routine in-office gastrointestinal screening.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
A positive test means that there is occult blood detected, but a colonoscopy will determine the source and therefore it doesn't mean the patient has colorectal cancer.
The test's accuracy is as high as 70 percent
Although hemorrhoids can cause a positive test result, it is rare. If positive, the healthcare provider will conduct more tests to find the cause of occult blood.
