Spend less time inputting patients vital signs data into the EMR and focus on providing quality patient care with the Carescape VC150 Vital Signs Monitor by GE Healthcare. This monitor is configured with the ability to spot-check or continuously measure blood pressure, temperature, and pulse oximetry, giving you the convenience of having two devices in one. Measurements are directly sent to the EMR in real-time, eliminating the usual delays the documentation of patient data that increase the chances of charting errors. This innovation improves clinical results, speeds up the workflow, and reduces the workload of clinicians so they can focus more on providing excellent patient care.
Excellent Patient Care: The Carescape VC150 uses advanced technologies to accurately and quickly read patients blood pressure, using the DINAMAP SuperSTAT NIBP, a non-invasive measurement that can accurately determine the blood pressure of patients from neonates to adults in as fast as 14 seconds. Determining the temperature and blood oxygen of the patient can also be done with the help of optional devices that are compatible with the monitor. Pulse oximetry is measured using devices, such as GE TruSignal SpO2, Masimo Rainbow Set SPO2, or Nellcor SPO2, which produce highly accurate results for both normal and challenging patient conditions. Temperature is measured with the Welch Allyn SureTemp Scanner or the Exergen Temporal Temperature Scanner.
Seamless EMR: Connectivity The Carescape VC150 monitor directly sends all recorded patient vitals, manually entered observations, and early warning scores (EWS) to the EMR as completely validated data. The VC150 monitor can connect to an EMR in two routes: direct connectivity to any HIS system through the HL7 interface or to Cerner Millenium EMR via CareAware VitalsLink. It also has LDAP access to the hospital network, allowing patient demographic query (PDQ) and clinician user identification. Results can also be printed using the included printer.
Support for Early Warning Scoring (EWS): The Carescape VC150 can be easily configured to support EWS as defined by your clinical facility. It supports standard protocols including MEWS and NEWS and can accommodate up to three protocols. The EWS score with care instructions is displayed on the screen and sent to the EMR along with the patient vitals. It also has built-in alarms when readings exceed healthy levels.
Portable, Ready-to-Use Design: Depending on your clinics needs, the Carescape VC150 monitor can be hand-carried or wheeled using the optional VC150 Dinamap roll stand complete with a basket and tray for storing accessories. Wall-mounting supplies are also available for separate purchase. Keeping the VC150 mobile helps you capture vital signs for several patients with just a few units while mounting it at the bedside saves it from the wear and tear of travel and ensures that a monitor is always within reach whenever you need it. A plug-and-play device, the VC150 monitor is ready to go once plugged in regardless of the battery level. The battery lasts for up to 10.5 hours.
Easy to Configure and Maintain: Through local WiFi, users can check monitor information, upload settings, view/export logs, view license information, and view and change preventative maintenance settings all via local WiFi. You can also configure one monitor and simply copy the settings to all other devices in the Carescape VC150 monitor fleet.

Temperature Scanner Options
- Welch Allyn SureTemp Scanner - Can capture 4- to 6-second oral temperatures, 10-second axillary and rectal temperatures, and 15-second adult axillary temperatures.
- Exergen Temporal Temperature Scanner - A lightweight and easy-to-use device, this infrared scanner can be used as a rectal, esophageal, and artery thermistor, which is suitable for all ages.
Pulse Oximeter Options
- GE TruSignal SPO2 Sensor - It has a GE-developed algorithm that helps healthcare professionals make better care decisions, even in challenging clinical motion conditions. This sensor provides patient comfort.
- Masimo Rainbow SET - detects pulse oximetry and can monitor multiple blood constituents and physiologic parameters such as patients' breathing, with of its Acoustic Respiration Rate (RRA) feature, which can greatly help in the early detection of respiratory problems and patient distress.
- Nellcor SPO2 - monitors blood oxygen, and it can detect repetitive reduction in airflow with the help of its Saturation Pattern Detection (SPD) feature. It also has a LoSat accuracy during challenging motion conditions.
EMR Options
- Standard EMR - this indicates that the vital signs monitor only has an EMR and the device cannot be connected with other monitors. (No EMR Networking)
- EMR Networking - Ready - Some of the GE vital signs monitors have an additional feature wherein you can connect the EMR to other monitors for other doctors to see. These monitors can be connected through cloud-based EHR Software such as Epic or Cerner Systems.
