Mastisol is a liquid medical adhesive used to secure dressings, tapes, and certain medical devices over an extended period of time.
Improve Patient Outcomes: Use of Mastisol reduces likelihood of dressing displacement and device dislodgement creating a lasting occlusive barrier that minimizes risk of infection. Mastisol is non-water soluble and secures even in moist or moisture-prone areas and is compatible with Chlorhexidine Gluconate.
Increase Quality: Mastisol promotes compliance with CDC guidelines, reducing workflow disruption. It is clinically-proven to improve the adhesive power of a variety of different adhesive tapes/dressings.
Reduce Cost: Mastisol can reduce product waste due to fewer unscheduled dressing changes resulting in overall supply cost savings and recovered nursing time.

- Crack: Place an individual vial blister pack on a hard surface with the label facing down. Gently apply pressure to the vial through the blister pack to crush the inner ampule to release Mastisol.
- Peel: Peel back the lid of the blister pack and remove the vial using aseptic technique.
- Apply: Turn the vial upside-down to dispense Mastisol onto the skin in a half-inch wide line.
- Apply Mastisol to the outside border of where the dressing will be placed, avoiding the area immediately surrounding the catheter insertion site.
- Allow Mastisol to dry completely, for approximately 20–30 seconds.
- Dress: Per facility protocol, apply the dressing to the skin, ensuring edges are in contact with Mastisol.
