Description
The 3M Prevena Peel and Place Incision Management System Kit is a disposable negative pressure therapy system – easy to use therapy unit & integrated one-piece dressing. It helps to hold incision edges together, reduces edema, removing fluids & infectious material into a replaceable canister. It acts as a barrier to external contamination and delivers continuous negative pressure at -125mmHg for up to 7 days to the incision site.
The 3M Prevena Therapy System incorporates all of the functional elements of negative pressure therapy necessary for the management of a variety of closed surgical incisions. Our portfolio of portable and flexible dressings and therapy units provide combined benefits of ease of use and flexibility to manage and protect surgical incisions following primary closure.
3M Prevena 125 and 3M Prevena Plus 125 Therapy Units manage the environment of closed surgical incisions and remove fluid away from the surgical incision via the application of 125 mmHg continuous negative pressure.
When used with legally marketed compatible dressings, 3M Prevena 125 and 3M Prevena Plus 125 Therapy Units are intended to aid in reducing the incidence of seroma and, in patients at high risk for postoperative infections, aid in reducing the incidence of superficial surgical site infection in Class I and Class II wounds.
More than 70+ published clinical studies in a variety of surgical incisions and patient populations have demonstrated that the 3M Prevena Incision Management System is associated with positive clinical outcomes compared to standard postoperative dressings.

- The 3M Prevent Dressing (polyurethane foam) channels negative pressure to the incision area and includes a skin interface layer actively wicks fluid away from the incision.
- The 3M Prevena Dressing skin interface layer contains 0.019% ionic silver, which reduces bacterial colonization in the fabric.
- The patient can shower with the dressing in place.
